I have a base model with a bench seat .
I like the truck dependable suits my needs good on gas. My wife and switch vehicles back and forth depending on need. She drives our V8 4Runner. She did substitute teach so it didn't get a lot of miles. She started a full time position that is a decent drive. It would make sense for her to drive the truck. Except she is 5ft tall and it's cramped in their for her and our grandson. Because she has the seat so close to reach the pedals. Does anyone have any experience with the split seat? Seems like it could solve the problem. I could drive the 4Runner to work and save gas I work closer .

Haven't seen anyone do a split seat but plenty of folks, myself included, have swapped the bench for bucket seats. It's best to get one from a similar year so you have less issues with airbags and seat sensors, but it's doable with moderate skill.

Here's what my 05 base looks like with 07 seats and Clazzio seat covers.
