    I'm in mourning...

T-boned and flipped at an intersection ("yield" sign and paint markings for other vehicle on crossing road). Doors jammed (both side airbags deployed, but not the front ones)

    IMG_7579.jpg

We had to cut ourselves out of the seatbelts and break the window glass to get out. BUY YOURSELVES SOME SEATBELT CUTTERS AND PUT THEM IN YOUR VEHICLES TODAY.

    IMG_7583.jpg

Hit on the passenger side, rear door. Rock rail took the impact (note bend in rock rail and shifted frame). Right rear panel sheared off. Rear axle displaced. Right rear wheel in the background

    IMG_7581.jpg

SmartCap flew another 30 feet (that'll buff out...). Note bend in passenger side frame rail.

    IMG_7580.jpg

Detail from rear of passenger side rear panel. Other vehicle in background with front end damage. Both vehicles got turned around (pointed in the direction from which they came).

    IMG_7578.jpg

Lots of folks stopped to help. Amazing. Thanks to each and every one of you! First responders were outstanding (of course). My passenger went in ambulance to ER. I tagged along and was admitted there. We were both released close to midnight. My understanding is that there were no major injuries in the other vehicle (CHP did not want me to talk to them). I am just so grateful that no one was more severely injured. R.I.P. my voodoo Taco. You did your job.

    Glad ya'll are ok - that's a beautiful truck - ... I'll take that skid plate LOL...

Gotta wonder how fast the other party was going - good grief - that's a lot of force to flip that truck.

    Drunk driver ???...

On the bright side, look how easy it is to change the oil with the truck upside down

Jokes aside, glad you're all okay. These tacos seem to be quite safe

Are you going to get another 3rd gen? Or is a 4th gen something you have considered

The truck is replaceable……damn great to hear you and passenger are repetitively uninjured.

It’s going to hurt in a few days……roll overs suck.

Man, that sucks. It's great that it kept you safe, but that doesn't make the loss of a solid rig any less of a gut punch. Take some time to recover. Some injuries take a bit of time to present, so be careful. Worked with a guy that took three days to realize he had a couple fractured vertebrae after getting T-boned. No where near that level of damage, so I'm really hoping you and your passenger(s) are truly not too badly injured.

    I'm sorry, man. :(

Hell of an impact! So glad you guys got out. A tall truck and the slider probably saved you from a worse fate. Hope their insurance helps make you (close to) whole again. What part of San Diego? East county?

WOW! Glad you are ok. I agree with others, take some time and get checked out by your DR. It might take a week to start hurting.

Wow! Glad to hear your somewhat okay. Was such an nice looking truck. Biggest pain now is getting it replaced somehow as I'm assuming that it's a write off.

Based on where this appears to have happened I hope the people that caused this have good insurance for you to go after. It gets expensive with ambulance rides, even with your our health insurance.

Good lord, lucky you aren't still in the hospital!! Truck did what it's supposed to.

Aside, I don't have a cutter/breaker but things like this make me think I should for both our vehicles. Any recos?
