will post actual pics when I get them out of storage soon

    feeler ad, $600obo SoCal
Kinda wanna keep them but planning on moving far and taking these things in the trailer would probably not be wise, given gear oil residue and weight (they are heavy)

    what they are:
    -front and rear diff
-both from 2nd gen Taco, IFS clamshell ECGS bushing installed
    -3.73 stock ratio
-rear is early TRD sport mech LSD, "8.4" style with the carrier handles

    any drawbacks:
-I just stripped the front diff drain allen plug so that will need removal

    positives:
-maintained, good gear oil, on time, looks good inside. No issues.
Actually, I need to check. I think there was a tiny bit of noise on take off from the front. I'll report back. If so, that may not be a big deal, as the point of these are cores, and/or rebuild. *IF* that's from a bearing, I'd think replace the bearing.

-still has front ADD tube (stock) with actuator functional, 4HI 4LO confirmed working

    purpose: regear cores
it's a lot cheaper to do a regear on a bench, using a core, whether you drop it off or mail it in a bucket

I also have sitting around somewhere a set of 4.10's

if anyone knows how to ship such things please let me know

going to see if anywhere sells a tall bucket

am thinking that might work, with the diff in a bag (fluid residue) then spray expanding foam and slap the lid on
    Label on the bucket
Though IDK if shipping companies accept a bucket as a “box”

They will charge extra if it’s not in a box. I have learned that the hard way shipping other things. I have placed. In a bag and layered cardboard on cardboard similar to how ECGS ships them so they are in there good with no movement and never had an issue. I’ve shipped several to ECGS over the years. Never used a bucket.

    thank you

in that case sounds like a good idea to find the right size box
same thing, plastic bag to keep any residual gear oil from leaking out
and allow for expanding foam to do it's job without contaminating the diff, and prevent movement so the box is secure without the diff banging around inside busting a hole in the box ripping it

Zuk does box in a box. As you describe then another box with expanding foam pack so the inner box is well protected. Heavy duty cardboard for both. Adds some extra cost but consider that as insurance.

@05Taco4x4 does spray foam in a box. It works well for a pair of hubs/wheel bearings

    what are those?
i think ECGS says a 6.5 gallon bucket is how they like them shipped without a box or crate, I read that somewhere.

thanks. Plan right now is double boxed and foam. But will check. I’ve heard the bucket thing only works if it’s done through ECGS with a certain tag they send you vs outside of that
