Well I am glad I looked. I was wrong about the wire length. I must have made it shorter, originally, for the 2012. This wire is now around 5.5" inches long and I used a 5A fuse link although it has never blown a fuse after over 2 years of use. Note that the yellow wire, with the fuse link, is spliced with a pink wire to give it more length. The pink wire end has a long thin blade that is needed to seat down in the socket. I keep a bunch of old car connectors in my tool box and disassemble connectors to have extra bladed wires for such jobs. Pictures taken from driver side of truck. I need to remove and shrink wrap it and get rid of the electrical tape.

I’ve got the second fuse box set up on mine for extra add on’s, I don’t like messing with the factory wiring if I can keep from it. I went with this post….https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...no-splicing-no-bending-100-reversible.309407/

IMG_3797.jpg Here is a picture of how mine looks at the box, and the brown “Hot” wire you can see also hooking to my fuse box, the same wire.
You can see how I did it on my 2015 SR5, here is the relay and the brown “power” wire you can also see it plugging into my fuse box, same wire!

If I had the time and space I would jump on it. You could prob get it for $3k, sell the body parts, sell the interior, and have an engine for $2k max. Replace the timing chain, head gaskets and water pump and ride for another easy 100k miles. I think it is a steal. I see posts where people pay $5K, or more with higher mileage, for used 4.0's.

Extended my air compressor to a coupler mounted to the bumper. No more needing to open the hood to air up.

I got no more taco lean! And no more sway bar. And no more rake. And no more alignment. I didn't think this through maybe…

My truck has never given me a single problem (2014 v6 4x4 auto w/93k miles). I lent it to my parents yesterday so they could move something and when I start it up this morning the ABS light and VSC lights are on and my speedometer was going haywire while driving. They picked it up and dropped it off while I was at work.

didn’t throw any codes my handheld scanner could read. Could this be an ABS sensor that got knocked loose?

of course my parents said nothing out of the ordinary happened, timing is just very suspicious.

How hard is that install? I’ve only seen videos of it on 3rd gen’s, I’m hoping it’s the same.

Called in just before midnight to treat the roads here in Central Mass - yeah, its still below freezing here…. And snowing…

Had some downtime so I gave her a nice warm bath inside the garage, installed two sets of seat jackers and replaced all of the interior bulbs with Sylvania LEDs - best part is I’m making time and a half while working on my own truck…..:luvya:

It was very easy, especially having the tow package hook up. I got everything at etrailer, which I recommend:

    1) 331-EBRH-ACCV2 (Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles)
    2) 3040-S (Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers)
    3) 331-TPSI-002 (Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller Control Knob)

For other buyers, the tow pro liberty is a cheaper option that drops offroad mode and only does 1-2 axles
Perfectly fine for 95% of trucks
