I thought I’d check out Red Rock being it’s been about 10 years since I last hiked in that area. It’s changed. The undulations have gotten larger and a bit deeper. Sandstone bedrock. Hoping the state park lets it go as is. On heavy rains no doubt 4WD will be needed if the creek gets overrun.

With the little rain we got today, I was thinking of checking it out.

On the way back out. I don’t remember being thrown around so much. It’s short, but again, leads to great hiking with great views.

Only way into Topanga is via Woodlandhills, Old Canyon, and Stunt Road. The 27 is closed at PCH. Landslides.

I could be wrong, but if I remember through the cobwebs, the trail leads to Calabasas Peak.

Good large sandwiches at CRICCAS if you don’t know about it. 27/Dumetz

Good Stuff, have fun brother

Oh.....I know Criccas VERY well. Been going since dude left Cavarettas to open it. Criccas is my #1, but my wife's preference is still Cavarettas. Been going to Cavarettas so long I still expect Lions Lair to be nextdoor:rasta:.

Ahahaaa, you might be able to sniff me out:rasta: near Froggy’s on the 27, that 3C is alright.

I haven’t been to Cavarettas, I’ll have to check it out. Have you tried Waterlily Cafe? That serves good sandwiches and coffee, juices and stuff in downtown Topanga

    Have fun hometown!

It’s not too bad right now. It’s when it rains for 3-4 days in a row, heavy rain. That’s when it gets impassable. The waters that run off these canyons can get gnarly. Most of those residents that live past the county maintenance sign I’d imagine have to shelter in place. I’ve seen them close it off to the public. Rangers live at the end where one parks.

Just got back. Not bad at all, but very short.....and broke ANOTHER set of wheel well liners. Hit a rut and stuffed my tire, breaking the set I literally made last weekend after breaking the last set the previous weekend.

The ABS material I keep using to make them just isn't cutting it. Gotta make my 5th set now.
    20240316_163225.jpg
Freshly fabricated and installed last weekend.

    Damn, Red Rock carnage, fuuuudge.

Where did you get your Mickey’s at? I like the way that tire looks!

Yeah, it’s very short, but when it rains for successive days/nights and Topanga creeek is topped and flushing over with sediments, this would be a crazy attempt to want to go hiking. That’s if they don’t close it. Bit at least the state park gave us something. They be holdouts, and yes, for good reason.

Got the tires at America's tire on Topanga north of Victory. Ordered them on the website and took about 2 days to get them.

There were some really cool homes back there. Now ive gotta make a replacement set of fender liners for now (can't run without them since im on dirt pretty frequently), but I am planning to copy C4's aluminum design.

Good Stuuf, I like that AT. Always been good to me.

Yeah, pretty cool homes, I liked the road to your left on the way in that had a grassy dirt road. There is a house across the ways on 75 acres and looks like The Kind for a home on the range…low range that is:mudding:

If you need part of it TIG welded, shoot me a pm, I’d be happy to help out a fellow TW’er.
