I came from Jeeps and I have to say that lifting jeeps is a much more straightforward job.

I want something mild, I am not doing King of the Hammers or anything crazy in my truck.

I'm shopping at shocksurplus.com and have selected this option:

    Pre-Assembled: ✓
    Circlip Setting: #11 / #9 - 2”
Spring Options: Standard Kit (600lb Rate)
    Upper Control Arms: None Selected
Rear Lift Option: Icon Progressive AAL +1.5"
    Rear Shocks: Bilstein 5100 (0-1.5")

I plan to run 265/70r17 Wildpeak tires on
    17x8.5 +5 offset

Be gentle - what are your thoughts about my plan?

Very common lift, it will sit level after a few months. Typically people do add a leaf new and replace full leaf pack later on. Do you plan on hauling or towing?

you are good to go, just order it, this is your blessing!

No plans to haul anything big or long-term. Kayaks and camping gear occasionally with recovery gear when I am out playing in the Ozarks. Towing will only be a light utility trailer to the dump or maybe my adventure motorcycle ~520 pounds on a trailer.

    Thanks for the sanity check!!

I did the add a leaf then custom leaf packs a year later. Then the archive hammer hangers. Very happy with it now. I estimated my final weight in determining the suspension set up. Not as easy or cheap as jeeps, you’re right. Otherwise it looks good.

Solid axles are a lot more straight forward. However, IFS vehicles dont usually get deathwobble like solid axle vehicles.

One of the common misonceptions about IFS is that you get more travel when you lift the truck. And thats not true. Unless you get long travel a-arms you only have so much travel to work with. Tinkerers Adventure on Youtube has a fantastic couple videos on this.
