CV Part number Question

A couple of question and an opinion sought. Somebody is selling this CV/ axle assembly because they no longer own a Tacoma. I called the dealer to verify the part number, which is correct and then asked if it was the left or right. to which the parts counterperson replied they both have the same part number. Is this correct, are they the same part, is the length the same? And finally, should I buy it? I don't need it, - yet. I was going to put it away till the day I do need it.

 

^Yep common P/N LH and RH, and interchangeable with Tacomas 2005-2023, 4Runners 2003-2024.

Being a reman (done by 3rd party on Toyota's behalf), need to check for prior damage, specifically on the splines and axle nut threads.
