Yeah if you want MT you take what you can get sometimes. I often think that the take rate for MT gets pushed even lower by this and the fact that people have to choose between MT or 4 other options they also want. Many people skip the manual when presented with those options.

It was why I ended up with a super base model IS250 to start and had to spend a lot to get it to where I actually wanted it.

I really feel it for the DCLB folks. Other than ACLB MT folks wishing for an OR, there are a lot of post from that crowd wishing for an MT.

I've been in the right seat of both the IS250 AT and MT. They zing along nicely. The MT was definitely the better ride if I was on the left.

You should try it with the IS350 engine. :D

    selling a 2nd gen rear 8.4
From what I understand all 2nd gen is 8” and 8.4 is the term came up with simply to denote strong carrier handle reinforcement.

3rd gen guy asked if it fits 3rd gen.
A post on here suggests some 3rd gen sub models are 8” while others are 8.75” (Elocker OR?)

    this makes me wonder
Is the whole diff bigger, or just the internals
and the axle tube housings are they different

I wonder if it’s possible to for example but a bigger 3rd gen diff into a 2nd gen
Though I imagine not worth doing given 0 reports of 8.4 failures and various options for diff types to put into that housing

I guess one way to know would be if I climb under some trucks to take measurements of what the outside bolt pattern looks like. If it’s all larger and more bolts holding it on then it’s a bigger third member and axle housing that it goes into.

Gen Gen locker diffs are 8". Non-locker is 8.xx" larger size if anyone looks at older 2nd gen axles.
