Tune or not to tune ott?

So I have a 2020 offroad with a lifetime power train warranty. As long as I keep records of the maintenance done on the vehicle. They will warranty the powertrain. However I'm curious to know for one, has anyone had any issues related or caused by tuning. And do you think it would void my lifetime warranty.

 

1.Tunes are detectable. Visit services at you own risk. They won't check, but be aware.
2. Understand how your powertrain works throughout the engine loads, temps and speeds. If AT, understand the operation, temperature limits, etc.
3.tunes mostly improve performance of the powertrain and don't cause any issues, but you have to monitor closely at the beginning.

 

Anyone who tunes will deny it causes issues once they have them. As a hard core import guy in my younger years, talking building SEMA cars not rattle can Hondas, you're always trading gains for reliability. There's some great tuners on here that do great work, but it's always trade offs. Toyota paid millions of dollars to engineers to balance MPG/HP with reliability.

Personally I wouldn't tune and if you do, pay for a quality tune and expect the warranty to be denied going in.

 

Drive in S4-S5 with ECT ON before you go the tune route if your concerned.
Also the pedal monster looks interesting might meet your needs as well.

yes and then Toyota compromised all that with the café standards, thus lowering drivability
