I noticed this last night. Average temp, 60's. Humidity not too high. I started the truck and Alot of water shot out of the Tailpipe?

1st pic it right when I started it
2nd pic is after it idled for a while
3rd pic is after I turned the engine off, puddles of water visible
4th pic I stuck a paper towel in the table pipe
5th pic I removed the paper towel
6th pic shows how much standing water left in the tailpipe

There is less than 2000 miles on the truck is this 'normal' for these engines?

I've already decided they are the Loudest, clunkiest engines ever, now where is the water coming from?

    Old Faithful! lol

It's normal. Stop doing short trips and short idle times.

Also, quit shoving paper towels up the tail pipe.

Hmm, I have a similar truck that I've had since new. It has 7k miles now and I haven't noticed as much water ever.

When you combust fossil fuels, you create water in the process. A lot of water, in fact, you create around a gallon of water when you burn a gallon of gasoline.

Normal. As long as it's clean water. If it was coolant, you would know. Water comes from condensation and is also a by product of the catalytic converter. Catalytic converters provide a site for the oxidation and reduction of toxic by-products (like nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, and hydrocarbons) of fuel into less hazardous substances such as carbon dioxide, water vapor, and nitrogen gas.

There's probably water pooling in your muffler, since the tailpipe opening is higher than the muffler bottom. Thankfully the muffler is stainless.

    Yeah, it’s how cars work

You can check and see if your drain on your muffler is clogged, I don’t have a third gen but never seen a car without a weep hole on the muffler

Condensation is a byproduct of combustion, why are we wiping it up with paper towels and making forum posts about it?

Mine still does it now that the 4.0 is nearly 10 years old. Just make sure you run it long enough to get the exhaust nice and toasty. My dad - who knew nothing about combustion chemistry - said the varying amounts had to do with whatever cheap brand of gas you were buying. His idea being that they were (oops) adding a bit of water in transit to boost the number of liquid gallons......

ok, I just never had that much water coming out of an engine unless there was coolant seepage or something. I'll watch the coolant closely.
