    2016 TRD OR, 100,00 miles
Lift is fox 2.5 with resi’s bought and installed by Accutune off-road
Have over 50,000 miles on lift
Should I get new OEM axle?
Was considering replacing both sides with new OEM considering the the miles on the truck.
Not looking to go cheap as this is my DD and gets wheeled a few times a year.
    Thoughts?
    TIA.

If the C.V. Is still quiet, rebuild it with a genuine kit. Not sure how much an entire axle is, but re-booting has to be more cost effective.

$15 problem if you fix it soon: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1378666&cc=1431544&pt=2284 This kit uses metal zip ties, so you don't need special pliers to crimp the clamps.

As shown in the video, you don't need to pull the inboard CV joint cup out of the front diff:

If the boot pleats touch each other due to your lift, pull the small end of the boot out a little past its normal designated spot: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-cv-boot-mod.190669/

You can use a hose clamp to really cinch it down, as I did on my truck on factory boots:

    Thank you gentlemen,
Just a thought if I get let’s say a OEM boot kit should I try the boot slide mod while I’m in there?

Very wise to stick with original Toyota CV axles and boots. Sub $100 CVs from the internet are usually garbage. I just had a new GSP CV joint start clicking loudly after only 4,000 km on my 4Runner. Stupid me. Changing CV boots is messy but swapping CV axles isn't much fun either.

Alignment tech put screwdriver hole in CV boot several months ago by mistake which caused grease to sling before I noticed it. Shop replaced axle with new Napa brand, haven’t noticed any issues.
