Wife was next door at Lexus dealer doing the paperwork on her new RX so I walked over to the Toyota dealer right beside and there were three 2024 Tacoma's sitting there. Salesman told me there were a few more coming in before the end of February then in March there will be a bunch coming in, like at least twenty or more. He also said that the TRD Pro and the Trailhunter will be scarce for a while. Said several SR5's/TRD Sports and Off Road models with Double cabs and 6' beds. They plan on keeping one all the time as a demo, told me to come back end of next week and take the demo for a spin. So with that said prices might pull back a little if inventories go up but nothing is guaranteed.

Most keep them on the lot to get foot traffic, heck we have a Sequoia and there are zero available.

When the 2nd and 3rd gens came out we hunted them down lol. The 2nd gen blue sport was a true shock to see in person.

This 4th gen can easily blend in with its Tundra big brother. Its cool but not a shock to see.

When my salesman called to tell me my truck was in, I told him I couldn't pick it up for 3 day, he was like That's fiiine. While I was there signing papers on it, there was an assload of people looking at it. trying to open it, etc.

Back when I was buying my 2008 Tacoma the Dealership did a trade for it then after they picked it up said not to come for 3 days. I drove by the Dealership at night and there it was right at the front door with balloons and signs all over it using for advertisement.

That's hilarious. I can understand their reasoning though.

Inventories are very low because Tacomas are sitting at a port. FYI, the video in post #1 is from Feb 13th. Why do you think Toyota is keeping them all at the port?

I think you are right about controlling the inventory (and leaving Tacomas at the port). I think Toyota wants to avoid another situation like the Tundra where dealers have to put $9000 off MSRPs on the windows and they still are not selling.

Where is that dealer? Pacific North West? Might be worth flying and driving back if I can get $7k of a tundra.

The dealer in the video above is Toyota of Gladstone (a few miles south of Portland, Oregon). That video is about a month old.

Here is another Portland, Oregon area dealer (Wilsonville Toyota) with discounts on Tundras and this video is 3 days old.

Tundras are piling up like crazy at my local dealer in Wyoming. Most of them are top-end trims north of $70k. Very few middle-of-the-road trims like SR5. Starting to see discounts. I imagine after the novelty of a new generation Tacoma wears off, the same might happen for the Tacoma.

Cars stacking up on lots is a wonderful thing to see!....I want to see their rented overflow lots start filling up as well.
