Looks like I jinx'd myself cause my P0420 came back today but with a P0606.

I looked up a few threads and they say try to replace the 02 sensor first.....Not sure when I'll be able to get around to it.

How soon do you think this needs to be addressed? Is it a don't drive situation? Truck runs fine...

I cleared the codes with my scan tool. I've got a few errands to run today. I hope it's safe to drive....Thanks

    Here's the codes I got....

    Engine and ECT
    P0606 - Current
    P0420 - Pending
    P0606 - History

    Cruise Control
    P0606 - Current

I just ran one of the errands after I cleared the codes and the check engine light didn't come back. I'm not sure why it appears listed in the Cruise Control. I tried the cruise control and it worked fine....

I'm gonna order a Denso 02 sensor from Rock Auto....I think I need the downstream Left...Is that the passenger side?

    Thanks

I've seen flaky AFR/O2 sensors cause a P0606 to set on Toyota's, the problem is figuring out which sensor is causing it without it setting a code for a particular sensor.

at this point the sensors are old and have miles on them. Replacement on other vehicles not just by now, but earlier than now, is not unheard of. And all O2 sensors are the same. They’re not made by Toyota. They’re made by an O2 sensor mfg and used by Toyota.

so why not replace them and re evaluate. It’s easier and cheaper than cats.

that’s what I did. No CEL.
