Got some new lights that I want to flush mount, but the hole in my bumper isn't made for the flush mount brackets from BD.

Looking for a metal bracket cutout in the shape of the dirt outline here:

    IMG_20240318_171652.jpg

Basically this plate but with the side wings:
    Resized_20240317_181608.jpg

I could even send you the faceplate from the light here (and the BD one above) for exact measurements:
    Resized_20240317_181754.jpg

Willing to pay good money so I don't have to do it with a cutoff wheel. If you're interested, let me know and I'll move over to DM.

Got your PM; I actually replied here via phone but now that I see it on my PC oh yeah that's way easy

Heck here's a 'rough' draft of the current setup you have before incorporating the new bolt holes you need for the new lights

    Screenshot 2024-03-25 185316.png

And rough cut out for the light itself

    :spending:

EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Just need a couple holes for the light mount itself. I know you have that drill press, any way to do counter sunk holes?

I just need the right bit for it, if someone wants to toss me a recommendation for some that won't break the bank for metal? I have some for countersinking but I think they're for wood.

If the holes are less than 3/4" I'd just drill them out myself as really small holes can come out slightly jagged due to the concentrated heat in a small area.

Can't recommend anything myself, but am happy to pay for any tool costs for bits etc. Would be looking to get these holes added (definitely less tham ¾"):

If not, it's not a deal breaker.

Yeah, I was planning to make it look like this

    But with the appropriate dimensions

I'll post back on how these work out, but I just ordered these; if they don't work well I can always return at no cost to me

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CFQKS5C6?smid=A1ZOE4ML9ZKF65&th=1

So feel free to shoot me those parts as soon as you'd like to get this done

Sounds good. I'll get those parts loaded and see if I can't get them sent out tomorrow or Wed. Like I said, willing to pay for any tooling too. Really appreciate it.

I haven't posted any signs for a while. I was asked to make this one for a friend's workplace. Ignore the nasty wiring hanging down. They have a plan to conceal it.

    Company logo:
    20240321_162430.jpg

    My 3 layered interpretation:

    20240321_160058.jpg

Only unforeseen problem was the LEDs I used. Their ones with a remote controller with multiple settings. They only want the purple since that's company logo color. The wireless receiver is inline in the wiring and needs to be line of sight for the remote to work. An unfortunately every time the lights are powered down, it defaults to multi colored flash mode so hiding the wires is an issue.... it's always something :annoyed:

They talked about a cloth tube type covering, but I haven't heard back. Just hung it last Friday.

You can get the newer Lincoln MP215 for even less than what used 210's were selling for

    Screenshot 2024-03-26 115225.png

Only looked them up since I plan to stop by and see if they carry some bits; it's where I get all my welding consumables

    @Gen1FTMFW

Tested those new bits; drilled a 3/16" hole and used the 5/16" countersunk bit

    20240326_165437.jpg

    20240326_165522.jpg

Let it spin for quite a bit to clean up but it still came out a little rough so I'll definitely be taking another member's suggestion of getting a single carbide bit from a local machine shop

For anyone watching, I can say I don't recommend these as this was just mild steel and it still looks rough

yeah, if i had seen this earlier, i would've warned you about that. i've tried a few of them, but all of them suffer from chattering that tends to make the countersink look horrible. i've ended up using cobalt step bits for deburring. it gets a consistently smoother edge, but can't go very deep.

I've got a cobalt step bit already, so I could try that

I've never owned a premium drill bit though so I'll fork out for a nice single carbide bit

I remember seeing those holes, looks good!

Definitely need carbide as I'll never drill aluminum.
