The alto has become my new favorite tent. I tried a Tepui first, then a 23Zero. Loved their black out fabric. Then a Desert Armor for my first hard shell. That was a game changer over the soft shell. A lot quicker to setup and take down. Then the Alto. It checks all the boxes for me. Black out fabric again, a hardshell with plent of room to store gear in and its slightly bigger that the usual queen sized rtt.

What is CVT coming out with next?

Similar to the alto.. but not sure about all the details yet it's supposed to come out in May or June.. I'm thinking about waiting to see what it looks like then make a decision on the alto or the cvt 1

There's one in my town and it's like a cleaner junkyard, they put the initial bids on the cars that go to dealer auctions. The high demand/high dollar stuff they cut out themselves and sell. Unless the seats are pristine leather with nut coolers they typically don't pull those out so you shouldn't have trouble finding headrests. Based on prices of stuff I've picked in the past, I'd say the guys would probably charge around $40 each.

If you never been to one I suggest going regardless.

I put on my License Plates. I live in Texas and I am required to have a front License Plate. I really didn't like the Big Box thing that Toyota puts up front, that makes you put holes in the front Bumper. I found this Blue Anodized Aluminum bracket on either E-Bay of Amazon. I mounted it to the Air Dam up under the front valence. I liked the first letters ToYoTa. I'm going to get 2 small "O" and 1 small "A" and put them on the front plate.

Finally got to use my Iceco APL55 for a long weekend beach trip. My Goal zero 500 had no issues powering the fridge and the truck kept the goal zero charged while driving (when I remembered to turn on the bed outlet). stoked to use this camping

Why a soft topper instead of a hard shell one?

Besides being able to use the full bed in just a few seconds there are a few other advantages of a soft topper.
They weigh around 25lbs, were-as hard shell is 150lbs+ and they cost less than $1k vs $3k for a hard shell.

There’s better OEM parts prices out there if you can’t find any used ones (pick ‘n pull, etc), like:

    https://www.lithiatoyotaparts.com/oem-parts/toyota-headrest-outer-7194004141b4

Sometimes your local dealer will price match online prices, though they may add the shipping cost that you’d pay, too.

I used to love going to the junkyard. My first-ish set of cars were 80’s VW. Always in need of some parts, always looking to snag another door handle. We would always grab all the relays, emblems, I bought a lot of wheels too.
