What’s the point of putting a lift kit in a 4th gen other than YouTube clicks? In stock form it can fit bigger tires than any other Tacoma gen. Put on bigger tires, gain some ground clearance and drive it with the stock suspension that you just paid $50-60K for.

Just wait, in a couple months we'll be seeing 4th gen posts asking why their truck rides so rough with a RC 6" db lift.

You can make the same argument with 2023 Tacoma, stock suspension that you just paid $50k for. Lift was never to fit larger tires on 3rd gen.

Lift gives better approach, departure and breakover angles. It's also an opportunity to upsize the shocks and improve suspension performance/durability off road.

^Maybe where you're from. :p Across the country, 45% of Tacomas go off road, so the additional clearance from a lift is beneficial.

How many go “off road” in places that they could not in stock form?

I saw that 45% statistic as well. It didn't specify whether "offroad" was a rock field... forest road....... grass lawn:laugh:

Just look at their front skid plate and you will have your answer..

Best case scenario would be to have two wheels sets with a daily and off-road spec tires/sizes along with a suitable suspension lift. Similar to owning a KTM 500 with an offroad enduro 21"/18" wheel/tire set and a 17"supermoto wheel/tire set.

So? I had my lift two years before I got the bigger tires. The lift and tires complement, not replace, each other. For example, I have 4" suspension lift in the rear. Combined with the tires, I can clear ledges half a foot higher than stock.

Don't know. Though the same horse's mouth said typical mod spending is $3k-$8k. That was in 2017, so $4k-$10k in today's dollars.
