I really don't think I need the 3rd light, but if install isn't a pain using ST's light I might change my mind

WOW that looks so good! I recently picked up a used Uptop rack for my soft topper and still can't get over how much it sticks out.
    IMG_8360.jpg

I guess UpTop sells some new brackets that will bring the bed rack closer to the bed rails.. for only $300...
Id rather buy a welder, learn to weld, and make my own brackets for that price.

Or wait until the new KB voodoo comes out

This is the seam sealer that I used (it was included with the softopper back in 2017)
    https://www.amazon.com/Gear-Aid-Sea...refix=gear+aid+seam+seale,sporting,144&sr=1-2

Here's my tip for applying the seam sealer upside down with the softopper installed.

If you want extra visibility you could always go with a tailgate light bar, the only real reason to get a upper 3rd brake light is if you are worried about getting a ticket.
Legally you are required to have a brake light that is higher than your tail lights.
I've been running this one for 18 months no issues, I installed it with velco so I can easily get to the hole to lower the spare tire. No wire splicing, no drilling just plug and play

Incase anyone was concerned with the current shipping status’ for Softopper due to previous posts about it taking months for delivery, I ordered mine last Saturday 3/23 and it shipped yesterday 3/28. Tracking says delivery expected 4/1. So it’ll be just about a week, not bad at all.

I think the long lead times were mostly during COVID.

Is this the one you ordered?

    https://softopper.com/products/3rd-brake-light-universal/

Looks simple enough, and I like the idea of using the Velcro strip. The only hold up I have is using the vampire clips to get power. I’ve been looking at making my own 3rd brake light mod using this adapter for power to the existing brake lights and powerwerx connector to the new 3rd brake light. This would keep it a little cleaner for the electrical and could easily revert back to stock if needed

    Just some stuff...
Mine definitely leaked from where the side clips are attached. Had to go over them a few times. Still get a few drops during a heavy downpour.

I'm having an issue with some mud stains that I never cleaned off from the summer. Anyone have suggestions on how to get them off? I'm not sure mud can really stain black canvas but I've tried to scrub them off with a cloth and some soap a few times and they are still there. Power washer hasn't worked either. Don't know how abrasive I can go

What soap/cleaner are you using? I use the Chemical Guys cleaners and they work great. For reference, I did a write up a while back on how I clean up my topper:

I can relate to that, trust me. The cleaner I use works well for me, even when the car wash doesn’t. Any convertible top cleaner for PVC coated cloth should work

Just put it on, wasn’t too difficult but sure does need to stretch out.
