Hey guys, I have a 2008 Tacoma and my instrument panel stopped working. occasionally the lights and gauges will flicker on but they go off pretty fast afterwards. I can’t figure out what’s causing this and I took it in and they couldn’t find anything.

Any help would be great as I actually have no idea what to do

Who is the 'they' you took it in to?

Are there other symptoms / things not working?

I went cheap for the first time and had Midas take a look at it. It started a few weeks ago where it would flicker but stabilize after a few seconds but now nothing lights up or moves when I turn my truck on. Everything else works fine though

Replace fuse or fuses related to dash lights. Fuses can do weird things sometimes. Move dimmer switch rapidly back and forth several times , switch can get dirty or even temperamental when left in same position for extended time. You may have a problem with circuit board like cold solder joint.

Pretty simple to check powers and grounds at the cluster (Combination Meter), if those are good then the cluster is bad.
From the sound of it it's probably a cracked solder joint on the board.

    Powers:

    C9 Pin 1 (Red) All times (ECU-B Fuse (7.5A))
C9 Pin 21 (Violet) Key on (Gauge Fuse (7.5A))

    Ground:

    C9 Pin 2 (White/Black)

Numbers are while looking into the connector, NOT the wire side.

P.S. Probe wire side of connector with DMM...not the terminal side.:burp:
