I bought a 2017 Off Road back in August of 2023. It came with running boards that I really like, however the paint is starting to wear and chip and it looks like crap. I'm looking to see if anyone recognizes the brand/model of the running boards, and any advice on what kind of paint to repaint them with. Also, I've noticed yellow stains coming out of places like my door handles. I've tried washing them through the car wash but it doesn't come off. If anyone has any ideas on how to clean and prevent those from reoccurring, that would be awesome!

the running boards, that's the powder coating flaking off. they really need to be sandblasted and powder coated again, which is basically the cost of a new set of running boards. anything less is really just going to be a temporary fix. you could sand down the effected areas and apply some 'bed liner in a can', but it won't last more than a year or so.

as far as the stains on the white paint, that's rust staining. likely from the hardware holding the door handle on. you'd need to disassemble the door handles, and apply something like iron-x to remove those. though you'll likely run into trouble with getting the handles off if the hardware is that corroded, and there's a strong potential that you'll need to replace that hardware and/or the handles to completely eliminate it.

And be careful with that white paint. It’s single stage and can be delicate.

Great points. On my last truck, I spent a lot of time sanding and painting and it just kept coming back. I lived in the midwest at the time where Rust runs rampant. I had a silver one with black running, was nervous when painting the thing.
