Just picked up a pretty uncommon truck, 2wd regular cab 6 lug prerunner 5mt. Love it so far!

2006 with 133k on the clock. Currently has a small lift, but looks to still be original front and rear suspension (bilstein 48510-ad060 up front and toyota tokico 48530-04020). Sitting on 265/75/r16 trailfinder all-terrains. Current ride height center to fender is 22.25 front, 21.75” rear

Front end just feels a little “tired,” and over speed bumps with no hands the steering wheel does the dance to the left, then, right, then center a inch or two each way. Also dives in the corners a bit, so I’m thinking it’s time for a refresh.

With reg cab + 4 cyl + 2wd, the front half of the truck is much lighter than most others out there.

what are the TW thoughts for an upgrade path? Worried that most coilovers will ride super harsh on the road on account of the lightweight front.

I am actively seeking out a topper and will be building out a decking system for the rear, and truck will be used for easy fire road / forest service camping throughout the southeast. Adjustable coilovers are of interest so I can accommodate the build as I go (buy once, cry once). Maybe eibach 2.0 and call them to ask about softer springs?
