4th gen had me at 8 speed...I hate the 6 spd auto

6th gen 4Runner is about to be unveiled and we still can't build a Tacoma with the Hybrid Max.

 

I can’t help but wonder if Toyota is seeing how sales of the non hybrid are going that and the massive bottleneck of non hybrids.

 

R&D money has to be accounted for somehow. Doubt it is just through the sales of the "Pro". Every Taco sold has to pay for that.

 

I don't think this is a Toyota specific issue. People aren't buying vehicles at the moment. Sales across the entire auto industry are down, one reason being high interest rates. With that said, I do think Toyota did price the new Tacoma out of their core audience.

 

Agree. I’m a cash buyer and still was like eh this doesn’t feel like a $56k vehicle I have to have (finally got to sit and drive one). And I’ve made rash financial Tacoma decisions before without batting an eye.

 

That’s why long test drives are important before purchase.

I think you guys are missing the point on price increases, a lot has to do with all the 3rd party items...mostly all the parts have to be purchased from someone else . Obviously those margins have gone up so the price of the truck also goes up ....a lot

 

Maybe a 25. I’ll be buying something in 25 when my oldest kid starts driving and takes my truck. I’ll see what the best truck or suv is at that time.

 

Not missing the point. And understand how supply works. Just cause we say it’s more than we want to pay for it doesn’t mean we are oblivious to basic economics. Just look at Jeep and their runaway prices. Clearly they as well missed the fine line / max their customers / demographic are willing to pay.

 

Do I get a discount if I don’t use it?

 

If I end up buying a Taco, it'll either be a 25 or 26.
