This time I used some of my son's 20 lb-test fishing line, but in the past I have used dental floss. You use the floss/line like a saw... slowly pulling on one side, then the other as you pull from the front of the badge to the rear (keep line/floss on badge side as opposed to paint side). That cuts through the foam tape/glue that holds the badge on. Then, with the remaining tape dry (key word) you use your thumb to gently and persistently roll the tape off the paint in the same direction as you flossed. Once that is done, you use some paint friendly Goo-gone on the remainder of adhesive. Took me 45 mins, but the rain didn't help. The tape comes off much more easily if its dry. Should be about 60 mins to do whole truck.

I usually have around 200lbs of hand tools in the back seat, and even though most of it is secured to my seat platform, who knows how secure that platform in a roll over event.
Plus at least another 50lbs of gear behind the seat platform. So a 2lb fire extinguisher is nothing in the grand scheme of stuff to worry about for me.

In over 20 years of driving I've never even come close to rolling over, so it's not something I really worry about.
But I do try to make sure nothing is in a position that it will come flying at my head during a normal collision.

Replaced with Tufskinz skid plate letter inserts.

Very easy to remove the old and install. Will see how they hold up.

Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?
I used this red wolf harness to plug online with the factory speaker wiring. Cut it in the middle, ran that to the input on the amp. Ran the output to the other side of the red wolf harness. Grabbed a ground under the dash behind the factory radio. Power is 10 gauge fused at the battery. The amp also fits low and to the right side behind the radio. Make sure the harness works for you year Tacoma. Mine is a 2020 non-jbl.

I previously posted a picture of the quick release bracket for my fire extinguisher mounted on the Rago bed side brackets. Ended up wanting to use those differently and mounted my extinguisher bracket directly to the bed rail.

I hear ya. I just know I’ve flopped before and so I’m cautious about what I carry in the cab. All of my tools, recovery gear, etc. is in the bed. I try not to do anything too stupid anymore, especially with this rig since it’s still fairly new. Be safe man.

When I did the drain extension a few years ago, I used a piece of some window screen/mesh repair patch. Formed it around the end of the drain and used a hose clamp to hold it in place. Water is free to drain out, while allowing nothing to get in.

Bolted receiver to Up Top rack with additional support going back to middle cross bar. Cut the rack down by 1 ft just to where bike tires clear tailgate. May have to slide it over a little to center bikes and may remove front wheels to narrow it up.

IMG_0364.jpg Bit of a cheat post because it didn’t all happen today but if I posted every time I puttered on this thing nobody would care. So last fall I picked of this contractor canopy for $300 (because as much as I wanted an alu-cab I wasn’t willing to swallow the $4000 pill). Since then I’ve been building it out as the weather permits. This weekend I bed lined some of the check plate panels, added a pop out window and some other little things. Still have more to do, notably painting the top . But it’s coming along nicely.
