How many drain and fill transmission fluid by measuring (3.2 qts out, 3.2 back in)?

I was thinking of refreshing the fluid in my transmission pan a couple of times. A year and a half ago (20k miles), I did the whole temp check mode procedure (leveled the truck, new crush washers, a little over 3 quarts of fresh fluid, etc).
No leaks, so I am confident the level is correct.
Due to crappy weather (and a limited supply of time and new crush washers), was thinking of just draining the 3.2 quarts from the pan and refilling. Then, in a few weeks repeat the process, this time doing the temp check overflow procedure, etc.
Just was curious how many of you just drain and refill with the exact same amount of fluid.
    Thanks, and Happy Easter!

If it was me and there were not any shifting or transmission issues I would wait and do the whole temp and overflow procedure.

Well, it (sort of) developed a couple symptoms last week, the one where it feels like it drops into gear after a full stop, and a harsh shift into overdrive.
I'm not 100% on it being transmission related.

Then, I would think the whole temp and overflow procedure would be called for. The sooner the better and if that doesn't solve it there's a guy on here who goes by gearcruncher, that may be able to help.

Thanks! By the way, I did do the temp mode/overflow about 20k miles ago, and no leaks, so I'm fairly confident that the level is correct. The fluid that I replaced last time was very dark. So, my plan has been to just exchange a few quarts from time to time until it looks cleaner. But, got busy and let it go for 20k miles.

At least measure what comes out. Don't just assume 3.2 qts will come out.

And, did you use the right temp range the last time? Toyota initially had the temp range set at 115-130, then revised it to 97-115.

I’d rather do a factory check procedure than rely on measuring quantity removed

The first time I did a D&F I did it with the jumping the pins on the obd , getting at correct temp and plug it when the trickle is right. The next 2 times, I just count ounces. Take out and put back exactly the same.

2 one gal milk containers works perfect. Fill one container with old fluid, mark level with sharpie, dump that old fluid in 2nd container. fill first container back up to original sharpie line with new fluid. Dump it in with vinyl tube and funnel through engine bay, remove funnel, blow through vinyl tube to get excess out of tube. Plug fill hole.

You could also just put the 2 containers side by side on level surface and match the correct level.

What is the current mileage on the truck? (Apologies in advance if I'm missing it)

Not much to add except that in my personal experience (including as a fleet manager for a small fleet of service trucks) I've had fluid changes done by mechanics several times when transmission issues start to pop up.

    Maybe 5 times?

It's easier to keep track of the times it helped. Zero times.

Maybe I'm due, but to this point every time I've had a truck start shifting strange the end result has been I (or the company) end up buying a rebuilt transmission.

Good luck! Your situation will hopefully be different.
