    Hi All,

Wanted to ask any 3rd Gen Tacoma owners if they are expierencing what I would call excessive vibration primarily through the seat when stopped but in gear.

I am particularly noticing a significant amount of vibration after long drives on the highway i.e. 30 mins home from work.

It is interesting that when the vehicle is cold, and then 15-20 mins into the drive there is very little vibration.

Only after quite some time driving does the vibration start.

Looking to see if anyone else has the issue my issue.

Is there a noticeable difference if you pop it in neutral while stopped?

Torque converter shudder? Tranny fluid low? Loose engine mounts?

Could be a million things. It's under warranty, what did toyota say?

I haven't been able to get the Toyota tech to notice the vibration as it requires a fair amount of driving time to start. They have just taken it for a drive around the block and called it good. Also had the techs focusing more on the loud whine coming from my A/C that just got fixed.lol

Mine does the same thing. I thought I remember reading on here that there's mention of it in the owners manual...and it's "normal".

Mine does this too when stopped and in gear. I dont think it happens all the time, or maybe I just havent been looking for it. It is my first truck so I kind of just figured it was normal and resigned myself to just keeping an eye on it to see if it gets worse.

I totally understand that there is always going to be some vibration when in gear. But it just seems to me to be quite a lot. It is also interesting that it will vibrate more when warm, and won't vibrate excessively all the time.

This is the injector cleaning cycle. It only does it when warm and stopped. It does it in or out of gear but you only really feel it in gear.

Thanks Tallpilot. Sounds like you have this in your's as well. For me it almosts rattle's my teeth. How strong would you say the vibration is on yours?

I have never had a vehicle that shakes like this.. and I have had quite a few older vehicles

I just noticed it this week in my truck also. And it’s right after leaving the house going to work so right away after start up. My 2018 only has 1,200 Miles

I've had the truck since February 2016 so I suppose I've grown accustomed to it. I wouldn't say it rattles my teeth though.

I notice it most in a drive thru. If it is particularly bothersome I just throw the truck into neutral. I hope it works, direct injection vehicles are known to get dirty injectors and need cleaning services.

Same here on my 2015 PreRunner (95,000 miles on the odometer).
Wondering if it's a combination of older motor mounts, needing to change the brake fluid, and the transmission needing a flush at some point (did a trans filter and an incomplete ATF change at 81k miles).

Doubt it's related, but in case it is, I also just recently did a 5 wheel rotation with a brand new matching Vision rim and tire (my other 4 Vision wheels are older and have been through more wear from long road trips and camping). Maybe the
