    Hey all,

Thank you all in advance for any help I get from this site and I hope to contribute solutions as well. My main interests at this time are how to modify my 2010 Tacoma to carry my 'light weight' camper. DSC_5375.jpg DSC_4467.jpg

What are some of the things that you don't like about how it rides now with the camper?

It is sagging a bit in the rear and the springs are slightly frowning when loaded. I have new 3000lb Timbrens jounce springs installed on the stock suspension (4 leaf). Right now my working theory is that my leaf pack is tired. I left the camper on all last summer and I am wondering if that didn't wear out the springs. Normally I take the weight off the truck using the camper jacks, but I got lazy and let the springs hold the weight. I feel like I am getting a bit too much sway when cornering now as well. It used to feel more nimble. I also just added Bilstein shocks about a week ago. The whole rig seems overly bouncy going down high speed rural highways with wavy grading.

I would recommend Alcan springs. They can do custom springs to whatever lift and weight requirements that you have. You will also need to revalve your shocks to accommodate the weight. Coils and springs control the lift and the revalving will control the handling and bouncing.

If the camper is on full-time, or close to it, I'd go with Deaver U402 Expedition Stage 3 Leaf Springs. Had mine for about 6 years now, love them. Currently paired with 5160s in the front and had Icon 2.5 std travel coilovers in the front with 650lb springs. Just swapped the front to 6112s with new 650lb springs, but have only driven like 200 feet with the camper loaded so far on those.

Thanks Ryan. My camper is only on a few weeks out of the year. The truck is my daily driver.

    Love your setup!
