Engine air filter gap

    2017 black Tacoma sport
    2017 taco TRD sport. Got EOM filter to replace old one and noticed there’s a slight gap where the bottom inserts. (Pics attached) Is this normal? I also noticed some dust under the engine air filter like a light dusting you’d see on furniture you didn’t sit down in for weeks, is that normal? I ended up wiping that down. Thanks to anyone willing to answer.

    Yes, that gap is pretty much normal.

    What you are seeing is the rubber of the filter. You’re not looking at the sealing surface, you’re seeing the outer edge
