    Got stolen by some a**hole
Hello. I like tacomas. Was gonna get one in like a year but my wonderful 2012 mazda3 commuter mule of a car that never had a single problem got stolen by a serial thief who got nabbed two days ago for kidnapping cus the car he stole shortly after mine had a kid in it

So now I’m about to bite the bullet on a gen 3 (sorry boomers) before the v6 goes extinct

this place has been helpful in amusing me and keeping the dream alive as I shop for overpriced pavement decorations and prepare to be in more debt

salut and happy Easter hope you all had a good early dinner and said hi to Jesus

We understand your decision, boomers designed the V6, the new I4 electric is a millennial product.

    Welcome aboard!

Sorry to hear about your Mazda. Glad that POS was caught and will (hopefully) be off the streets, at least for a while.

I totally agree with your sentiment regarding the 2024 Tacoma. The 4th gen differential/drivetrain has significant issues that obviously weren’t resolved before production. I’ve said it before and will repeat it again: Avoid the first year of a new generation like the plague. That holds true for any make/model. Regardless of manufacturer, the first production run of a new generation always has issues. Most are minor problems, but some are significant. Occasionally, they require a full blown recall. I certainly hope the 2024 Tacomas problems don’t reach that scale.

The venerable V6 in the 3rd gen is almost bulletproof. That same engine is in millions of Toyotas that are still on the road. Toyota tends to use the same tried-and-true engines and other components, which is why their reliability is second to none. Change the oil and rotate the tires frequently, and prep/maintain the underbody if you live in an area that is prone to rust, and that truck will drive forever

That's pretty much my thought process. The 2024s look sweet and I'm sure they're great trucks but I'd rather drive something that's been tweaked and tested for 8 years than be the guinea pig. I'm in new england so I'm already nerding out about rp-342 and thinking of coating it myself this summer. I like the results ive seen on youtube. Not telling the dealer this but i fully plan to drive what i buy until it disintegrates and not talk to another car dealership until i have babies and get a highlander or something LOL

You should drive both the 3rd and 4th gen before making a decision. I’ve had a 3rd for 8 years and just went to a 4th. Night and day.
