:pccoffee:  :rain: sixtys/wannabes/weatherbugs. Stay safe out there, you folks in the line of the heavy stuff! We're getting rain, then some rain, then it is going to rain, and after that it is going to rain. The whole week is a washout. April showers...

I can't agree strongly enough with the folks who retired and didn't look back. The reduction in stress in my case was surprising to me. I didn't even realize how much stress I was carrying around until quite some time after I left. I started noticing little things like aches/pains that were no longer there, better sleep, and so on. Small stuff but it added up. I'm in better health now, no question about it, due to ditching the stress of the job. I sometimes think about picking up some kind of gig part time, but it would have to be utterly stress free; Walmart greeter maybe? ;)

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Missed last nights rain, and none on our schedule the rest of the week. Sunny 70's today. Those of you that are getting April Fools weather, check your subscriptions!

    And hail does suck.

It is remarkable how little it takes to live rather comfortable when the house and autos are paid for. Then pay the credit card each month, it is enlightening

Yep, what a relief. But our cc bill is high, but paid off every month. Absolutely everything goes on it.

Yes absolutely pay off those credit cards every month. If you don’t they can quickly get out of control. We use our credit cards a lot but every month we pay them off. We use our airline cards mostly and accumulate a lot of air miles. Then most of the flights we make each year are free.

I do the credit card game also. I have 3 with the following cash back percentages:

    Card1 Card2 Card3
    Gas 5.0 3.0 1.5
    Groceries 1.0 3.0 1.5
    Dining 3.0 1.0 1.5
    Travel 1.0 1.0 1.5
    Online 1.0 3.0 1.5
    SAMS 3.0 1.0 1.5
    Other 1.0 1.0 1.5

I know Dave Ramsey hates it. Everyday I have Quicken automatically download all my transactions then move the CC balance to the payment date of my checking account. Each CC has an automatic transaction that pays off the statement balance in full each month. That way I know where I am at any given time.

I used to have airline miles but got so frustrated with the travel time and flight restrictions that I just take the cash. Last year I got cash (not something else) to the tune of $1,222. That helps with my airline tickets. Everything goes on credit cards. I can go months on $100 cash in my wallet.

We’ve never had any restrictions that I am aware of using our air miles. Last year we flew first class round trip to Hawaii with air miles. Also last year flew to Las Vegas and Los Angeles no restrictions. Maybe some airlines restrict but we haven’t had any restrictions on South Western, United, or Alaska Air.

Same here. I have a cash back card and I was using the cash to pay a car payment. Usually paid 3 to 4 payments a year, as I like to believe. 0% loan on the car and cash to make payments meant a lower withdrawal from the retirement account.

Good morning. Still raining for the third day in a row. A couple of small projects around the house this afternoon.

Morning folks. Been up since 4:26, that's when the power went out. We've gotten around 6" of wet sloppy snow and winds are blowing pretty good. Estimated restore is 10:30.

Nice method. But, for those of us that don't have the mental fortitude to track all that (yo, pick me!) just grab a card with a flat 2% on everything.
