    Hey all,

I think I am pretty set on getting this new OME MT64 kit when it becomes available. https://store.arbusa.com/mt64-standard-kit-mt64tacs/

I will have 20lbs added weight in the back and wanted a "lo-pro" type front steel bumper with winch. Was thinking C4 Fab lo-pro with Smittybilt X20 Gen3 10k winch. It looks like these together would add about 151lbs to the front.

The springs in the MT64 kit are OME 4004 which say to have a spring rate of 588lbs and 15.6" long. https://store.arbusa.com/front-coil-spring-set-4004/. They also have a "Heavy load" MT64 kit but the front springs and struts are the same as in the standard load kit. The only thing that looks different in the kit is the rear leaf springs.

My question is would the springs in the kit be enough for the added front bumper and winch without sacrificing much lift?

I got this response from ARB, but just wanted to get some opinions from the forums. I had always heard adding too much preload is a bad thing. "These struts utilize an adjustable preload collar on them, so yes the spring will be fine. You will just have to adjust the preload on the strut for the extra weight when you are ready"

    Thank you!

It’s hard to know. I can add a couple things to help.

Too much of anything is bad, but in general there is no problem with preload as long as you go the point that coil bind occurs. Preload is often misunderstood.

OME sells multiple springs with different spring rates: 600, 650, and 700 last I checked. Your setup might do best with a 600 as stated by ARB, but you have choices.
