Planning to upgrade the suspension on my 13 sport, currently have oem rear shocks and springs with some generic coilover put on by the dealer in the front. I'm mainly concerned with on road handling, I'm going to lift the front ~1.5" so I look cool but this truck will never go off road. My rear springs are in good shape from what I can tell so I plan to leave them alone but I'm open to upgrading if I will notice an improvement, I don't plan to haul heavy loads.

Currently leaning towards the 6112/5160 combo with jba control arms to help with the alignment but I'm open to any suggestions, I'll probably add a helwig or xrunner rear sway bar at some point too.

No, I want to spend $2000+ to make the truck ride and handle better than it currently does, the only cost of the 1.5” extra in the front is the probably unnecessary control arms

I’m not super concerned about the rebuild interval, rebuildable shocks may remain in service longer as long as they don’t get all corroded together

    Fox > 6112

save your money on UCAs. No need for 1.5” lift

thanks, I figured maybe fox would be overkill for my application but if they will perform better than the 6112 I’m all for it

I've got more seat time with 6112s, but I've installed few Fox 2.0s.

Honestly hard to tell a massive difference, but I do prefer the 6112 for street driving. It's cushy when going in and out of our parking lots and soaks up pot holes. It's one of my favorite daily set ups.

Personally I like the rebuildable aspect. 6112's are not rebuildable/serviceable (i believe, someone please correct me if i'm wrong), so when they go you will need to replace the whole unit, and the opposite side to match

I have Kings, and needed one shock rebuilt after some trail damage to the center shaft. Think it cost me about $200 between parts and labor? I can double check that later tonight but pretty sure it was right in that ballpark. The other 3 corners have not needed any sort of rebuild or service yet, and it's been about 50k miles.

That’s a big plus if it’s only $200 to have one rebuilt, I have several cars and a work truck so it’s no big deal if the taco sits while the shocks get rebuilt.

anyone think I should consider higher end setups like fox 2.5? Or would that be a waste of money for my purposes?

    Don’t know. Doesn’t 6112/5160 have a warranty
    And cheaper than 2.0
    And rear res

6112/5160 is said to be stiffer on road
And supposedly technically 2.3” not 2.0
May be wrong but bigger sounds better.

and adjustable perch. Availability of HD springs.

eventually would get adjustable Fox 2.5 if win lottery success
