Got rear ended by a lady dropping her kid off at school. It was the only vehicle parked on the side of the road so not sure why out of all the open space she decided to park right behind me. Apparently, she left it in neutral and didn't realize it was slowly moving still. She had to have gone no more than 2MPH but still gave the Taco a good shake.

All it left was a small scratch on the unpainted plastic towards the center of the bumper from the bolt that bolted down her license plate.

Didn't noticed any other kind of damage and the Taco drove the same going home. Got under and looked around when I got home and didn't notice any kind of damage.

What's the odds of anything messing up at this speed? Maybe I'll just leave it parked in the garage and never take it back out. Every time I take it out someone either bashes it with their door or run into it with their car

It's probably fine, but hopefully you have her insurance and contact information. If in doubt, take it to get checked out, I don't know, but I am guessing a collision center would be happy to look it over, in hopes of prospecting new business.

It's likely perfectly fine. Usually just scratches at that speed but like Chew said, you could get it checked out.

Sounds like a great excuse to get a new, upgraded bumper

That’s a possibility but I’ll take a look at it over again and if I notice anything weird I’ll have to go that route.

No damage to the bumper except a tiny scratch. I had looked at an upgraded bumper before but I like my BSM and I don’t think any bumper works with it that I’m aware of.

    Because people are complete bellends.

Re the door...get sliders. Watch the next idiot ding their own door on the slider instead.

There’s 3 BSM compatible bumpers currently being sold:
    Apogee offroad ($$$)
    Buckstop industries ($$)
    Fishbone offroad($)
The latter is like $700 bucks. You should get one and tell us how it goes :D

You are probably fine, but only you can determine how much a small scratch will bug you. I damaged the center portion of my rear bumper when it was two months old. It was fine but did bug me so I replaced it myself. Post #22 has a good write-up and post #5 has an exploded view of parts.

Get her insurance information, file a claim, have them pay you to repair the bumper, fix the bumper if it bugs you, pocket the money if it does not. 100% legal and ethical.

Scratches like that can cause stress points that can result in catastrophic failure during mall reentry. I would take my truck to NASA and have them give it a thorough inspection before I would feel safe driving it again.
