Hey all, I’ve got an 06 4x4 AC that’s had King 2.5 ext. on it for the past 7 years. Needless to say it’s time for a rebuild with bottoming out happening more often than it used to. I am going to upgrade from 600lb coil to 650, and my shock service shop is recommending using Eibach instead of King springs. Was not able to dig up much on why they are recommending this. Anyone have any input? Eibach also sounds like it may save me a few bucks (but lose the pretty blue King coils :()

    No input from anyone?

    Doesn't matter

Just a different color powdercoat, as long as you get the correct length

    What's the issue?

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression King gets their coils from Eibach. Either way you can go wrong, I have Eibach coils on my King 2.5s as well. Just make sure they’re the right size and have flat ends.

    Close.

Eibach and King (as well as a few others I won't name) get their coils from a larger manufacturer.

I know this because we've powdercoated hundreds of thousands of them for many retailers such as King, Eibach, and more but all having come from one single company.

There we go. I couldn’t remember what it was. Either way OP, they all come from the same place so there’s no wrong answer

What was surprising isn't that they came from the same manufacturer but that I was the main welder at that very company that did all the powder coating.

King does not make a 650# coil which is what many places recommend for the front of a factory-weight Tacoma. Look into rebuilding the shocks too

    King doesn't make any coils.

Just curious. Was this manufacturer located in Central CA? Or is the manufacturer Hyperco?
