Not sure what Noctua you're looking at.

$55-65 is a pretty cheap investment to keep a cpu nice and chilly; plus you can always repurpose it down the road.

I even put a new one on that super old 4770K and she is chilly!

Then again, the front and rear Noctua fans help as well.

    Yeah.
I'm running a 5600X as well and temps stay around 37C. Running benchmarks it jumps to around 50-55C. Stock wraith cooler was adequate but worked hard and let the temps rise significantly under stress. This one doesn't have to work hard at all.

I was looking at their 120mm variants, which this is the cheapest I'm seeing.. $100 OTD for a single fan variant, compared to a non-noctua where you can get dual 120's with more heat pipes for half the price or less.

    upload_2024-4-4_12-39-25.png

But yeah, buy once cry once I suppose. I could go 92mm but if I'm going noctua and spending more already, logic follows might as well go 120 haha

Maybe I should have phrased my question differently and just said are the deep cools, assassins, etc pieces of shit

Also apparently asking about coolers is the computer equivalent of an oil thread :anonymous:

Deep Cool has been reviewed extensively, searches will yield tons of favorable results as well as semi-recent videos including comparisons with the Peerless you mentioned as well as comparing with AIOs (for fun).

It's why the Deep Cool is on my list and not a Noctua; Noctua doesn't come in white :anonymous:

And yeah you're right about number of heatpipes vs fan size etc. But Noctua is good at what they do :muscleflexing:

I guess a better response is, nowadays no one really makes a bad cooler.

It's only when you get up to a 14900K where cooling is a huge ordeal to undertake.

You should look back at some of my older posts here, I redid an old build of mine and it still looks pretty old school.

Not sure you guys know this but Noctua specifically places an arrow on the side of the fan to tell you which way air flows

    Naw, makes sense

You want a good cooler, without breaking the bank, and don't want to throw your money away either

Yeah the Peerless and Deep Cool are nice alternatives to Noctua; heck so good they're recommended in general

Think the older Deep Cool or older Peerless were debunked for some false claims about their heatpipes but those have been discontinued already
