I own a 2006 Tacoma SR5, 4cyl, 2.7L, standard transmission, with approximately 112,000 miles on the vehicle. I purchased it used 2 years ago and recently noticed some type of oil dripping down onto my floor mat, it appears to be coming from the cylinder under the dash where the medal rod goes into when you step on the clutch. Any ideas or suggestions to where this fluid is coming from and what the fix is would be appreciated.

Most likely the clutch master cylinder. The slave cylinder is down by the clutch bell housing.

Clutch master cylinder overhaul or replace is only option. Check fluid in reservoir.

Replace both master and slave cylinders at the same time. Pretty easy to do. Cost of parts is less than $100.

I'm embarrassed. After 25 years of driving and working on only manual vehicles, I said slave cylinder. My Taco is my first automatic. Pathetic...

This is why I love this forum. My truck just started this and i was like WTF?! Place I got it from is taking care of it but I just looked it up and this forum popped up. It’s nice to just be able to look through the topics and be able to find my issue and not have to surf a million pages on the internet.
