So i did quite a bit of searching, and only get information on axle shafts, bearings etc.
    I have a 2009 TRD Sport 6 speed with the 4.0 on 3" lift.
While buying a 2nd hand shrockworxs front bumper from a guy, he had a rear axle with a lockright in it. barely used before he went 1 tons and did all the fun stuff. I picked it up for $200, figuring the cost of the bumper was cheap, couldn't be hurt. From my research, i'm better off just doing a full axle swap, as that locker won't go into my carrier with the ABS and auto LSD. Is this true?
The real question being, what do i need to know? Will it work or throw me errors for the ALSD? i will do new brakes, diff. fluid, clean up the paint, etc. what else should i replace while its out?
what is required to blead the brakes since i'm only going to be unhooking the rear brakes?
alignment of driveshaft? what am i looking for?
I'm very mechanically inclined and capable. Just used to jeeps and finally came over to the side of vehicles that don't break when you look at them.

I hope not. I thought this means you have an 8.4 without any shit on it like sensors. Never seen that before nor any suggestion of that on ECGS site.

you can get under and look. Speed sensors should be at the hubs.

May be wrong but supposedly rear is 30 spline and the same housing whatever it’s called, except for gardener specs for sure having at least the difference of having come with SUA tabs welded on the housing from factory instead of SOA.

if it’s a Tacoma 8.4 third member I imagine it would go right in and work.

just did mine. Didn’t have to bleed brakes. Popped the hubs out a couple inches so the third member can come out.

what is this Jeep reliability you speak of
I thought Gladiator was supposed to be magical solution

only alignment of my propshafts I did was match the imprint where they mate knowing if I run into vibration I can try flipping it 90 degrees to see if it goes away. Which I ended up doing for the front. 4 bolts, probably 14mm.

idk how ALSD works but if it’s from the hubs and regardless of diff choice then that may even better because it could mean having two “lockers” instead of one, like older years that don’t have ALSD.

Or you can sell the housing. Or make it into a tool. And put whatever locker and gears you want in the third member.

stock axle is not a factory e lock. The used axle was from a standard tacoma. same motor, same trans as my truck. no ALSD. so are you saying i can install the locker in my axle (take it out of the used axle i picked up) or where you saying that about the other reply?
I'll check for speed sensors this weekend.
from my understanding, alsd is controlled through the ecm and braking system and should not be anything else. i could be wrong.

if you have the 8.4” chunk, you can remove that and swap it on your axle housing with no other compatibility issues.

I did a full axle swap over 2 years ago. I went from 8” e locker to 8.4” limited slip. I wrecked my diff in the snow and wanted a Tacoma axle I knew the history of…so I bought it from a buddy. Everything bolted up in place! I’m not sure the year of the axle I put in but I know it’s a second gen axle.
