My automatic 2002 Tacoma prerunner 2.4L slowly accelerates like it’s stuck in a high gear. When I try to merge onto the highway it take a very long time to reach 60mph but I notice when I turn o/d off the truck seems to run better until about 60mph. It’s not something that slowly happened over time. It’s like I hoped in it one day and it was a totally different truck. I’ve tried doing all kinds of research but I can’t find anything with problems similar to me so hopefully one of you can help!

Kinda sounds like a plugged up catalytic converter. Runs normal, just no power. Check the tailpipe. Have some one rev it to 3k and see if you notice lots or little exhaust coming out.
