i need help choosing a new tub. Never installed one but im fairly handy. The tub is for our master bath. Im looking something like acrylic, basically something in stock at the local big box. The reason im asking here, with a lot of these acrylic tubs at the big boxes i read reviews about cracking after a couple months. Are these really that fragile or is it because they didnt use a mortar bed or follow instructions. This isnt our forever home, maybe a year or so more so it doesnt have to last 20 years. Im not lugging cast iron. I just dont want to install then have it crack so i have to do it again because it was a cheap tub.

You may want to repost this over in the "home improvement today " sticky thread -you WILL get some responses there -it seems to contain some folks with a lot of skills/knowledge!
