Hey, everyone. I have been watching this thread for awhile but finally just created an account. I will hopefully post a bit more on here but I am going to be selling my Tacoma soon. Curious anyone thoughts about the new 2024 Tacoma's and Tundras coming out in the near future. Might end up slipping down the Ford route again and that was my first truck, but will consider my options going into next year.

    Cheers!

Thanks all for the messges. Wife and I are considering down sizing to just one vehicle to pay off bills. I have 1 kid and another coming in a few months, so space is tight in the back along with my 2 dogs.

Not giving up too much hope as we both love the truck. I'm just considering selling now and next year looking at my options. So just a temporary leave of absence.

Makes sense. If it’s an option, great way to level the playing field.

Only considering if I end up having to sell my current one. If I were to buy one next year, I was just curious what people were seeing with the newer models.

I had a Ford before and didn't mind it. Only thing I might need is more towing and space in the backseat. I'm mixed on Tundra's I don't like how they look. Fords don't have a lick on resale or the durability as toyotas but I know that's the sacrifice I would have to make.

By “newer models” I assume you mean the 2024s, because your 2021 is a relatively new 3rd gen.

I haven’t driven a 2024 Tacoma, so can’t comment on the driveability. Everything that I’ve read says it is more refined, which is to be expected. The styling is somewhat polarizing. Either you love it or hate it. I personally think they tried too hard to make it resemble the Tundra, and I am not a huge fan of the new Tundra. But to each his own. Styling aside, the reliability of the 2024 Tacoma is somewhat questionable, just read the latest reviews. I think Toyota rushed it into production before fully assessing the 4WD system, but that’s a separate topic.

If I had to choose between a Toyota and a Ford, I’d pick the Toyota in a heartbeat. My brother-in-law works at a Ford dealership and I told him I was considering a Tacoma vs Chevy Colorado vs Ford Ranger. He said get the Tacoma.

Toyotas are some of the most reliable vehicles on the road. Whether you choose a Tacoma or Tundra, I don’t think you can go wrong with either one.

Can never go wrong with a long bed. I have always liked the unique colors, mote of the rarity but it does suck when you need things painted or in that color sometimes.

Changing up the styles always seems so polarizing. Either it's looks good or not. The new Rangers look terrible.

Yeah the only reason I would consider getting a different truck is the towing and more backseat room. I can put my dogs in the bed with a topper but 2 car seats in the back is tight.

My goodness, you have a great looking truck-
I wanted a Tundra but couldn’t get the deal done- out side of Toyota- again, if you can get past the looks- Chevy or GMC full size-it’s real hard to beat a 5.3 or 6.0 liter LS motor-add a mild cam for fun and drive the snot out of it. IMHO, of Course..

Yeah I love the truck, best one I have ever owned.

Chevy trucks, GMC trucks and Tundra, all three I am not fond of. I'd go Ford before any of the those but I like setup for that motor.
