Hi there! I’m new here and I’m really hoping this will help me figure out what is going on with my Tacoma regarding an ac/heater problem.

When I have the ac on and blowing out of the front vents everything is fine. However when I turn the dial to switch to heat, it automatically switches to blowing out of the defrost vents only and it never gets warm. I’ve tried turning the dial for the other vent settings and nothing changes when the heat is on. If I turn the dial back to cold, it switches back to blowing out of the front vents.

I just had my heater core replaced, which requires pretty much the whole dash to be removed. Do you think they connected some wires to the wrong spots or something? I’m lost as of right now. Was so excited to have my truck back and its frustrating to now have this issue. Any ideas? Thanks so much everyone.

You paid to have it fixed. Take it back and they'll correct it

I enjoy working on my truck to an extent…but you’re right. I’m taking it back in to them tomorrow as soon as they’re open.

Thank you for this info! The temperature does not change at all with the mode selector either…I am semi-second guessing myself though so I’m gonna go start it up, let it sit and try it again to make sure.
