Sony 10.1” XAV-9500ES - anyone install one yet?

Just did the install super easy, I actually love how the jbl stuff sounds now. The front actually has some real bass. Does anyone know how to add aftermarket front cam to this head unit.

 

Just installed this in my 2023 TRD Pro Tacoma. Everything is fine except for the following:

1. When I put the truck into reverse the rear camera works fine. If I select the rear camera from the home screen, I just get a black screen.
2. Front doors speakers are only playing bass and it seems weak/muffled, all of the mid and high tones are going to the tweeters. Might be normal as I didn't really put my ear up to the door speakers before I installed it.

For reference, I have the JBL system and the 360 camera system. That might be why the audio is the way it is and the 360 camera system might be the culprit for my i can't actually select the rear camera from the home screen.

Can anyone else confirm the rear camera selection works from the home screen with the 360 camera system? Or can anyone confirm that the JBL sound on the front speakers is supposed to sound like this?

 

Other than these issues, the system is freakin great, super responsive and the screen doesn't move at all when hitting bumps or toughing it (this was one of my major concerns).

 

Double-check your camera connections on the back of the unit. I had the same issue, contacted Crutchfield, which pointed out the obvious ... I hadn't connected the camera correctly. For reference, all Panoramic View Monitor camera modes work with this head unit.

Question to those that have Sony XAV-9500ES do you have delay on apple carplay? seems alot complain about it, i am about to pull trigger until came cross that there is 2-3 second delay when using this is there way to do carplay without wireless on this unit or only wireless? curious if those that have this have this issue.

 

The Sony is wireless only and Apple CarPlay does have a 1-2 second delay playing, pausing, and skipping tracks. It’s CarPlay specific though.

I also have an Android device that I now leave in my truck. No delay whatsoever.

Fingers crossed Apple will fix the issue.

 

Thanks all for input, i decided to go with Alpine HALO 9 409 option instead of this, slightly cheaper but no delay as for me wireless is not big deal i rather have quick response, unit coming in day or two will share my thouhgs.

Has anybody found how to screen mirror this with an android

 

Purchase the Sony 9500 tried everything under the sun to get it to mirror my phone and it just would not do it. I bought devices on Amazon, etc. Nothing worked. I have the newest Galaxy S24 ultra. Android
So then I bought the Sony 8500, which has a micro. HDMI port on the back again. Everything I try. I cannot mirror my phone. I'm over this c*** What do you guys think about alpine
