I just picked up a 2001 Tacoma PreRunner Xtracab Stepside and checked to see if I had the RS3200 receiver but unfortunately I do not. Can I buy one and have it be plug-n-play with the white connector seen in my photo?

    Another success story here:

New to me 2004 Tacoma SR5 Xtracab TRD 3.4

Found the box behind the kick panel, purchased OEM remote, followed the programming steps on the original post and voila, I now have keyless entry and locking along with the beeping when locking and unlocking the truck using the remote.

    Thank you for the information!

Worked like a charm, I got a little confused and thought I was supposed to hold both the lock and unlock button on the fob twice in a row but its just one time and the lock button is the second time

I've run into the same issue. That plug IS for the missing module (probably just the power source, speculating) but it's not the only plug we need. There is a separate wiring harness coming off the back of the module that connects between various different plugs. The part number for that missing wiring harness we need is 297140-42800700 (82132-YY050). Seems hard to find outside of going to a junkyard ourselves.

Here is a solid video explaining the connections.
