Heading out tomorrow to shoot in the desert east of Scissors Crossing, about 40 minutes east of that spot.
"Train Tracks"? First trip out there with a neighborhood buddy that shoots. Taking my Citadel Levtac lever action .38/.357 and my Howa Bolt action .223
    Retired life is grand!

Sounds like a good time. With everything going on lately I haven’t been shooting for a while now. I have plenty of ammo, but one would think the current price of ammo keeps some shooters at home.

How'd it go? I've been wanting to find a spot out in the middle of nowhere to just pull my truck up and spend a day shooting some targets.

It definitely keeps me at home. I'd like to shoot my 5.56 more often. I built a PCC for this very reason. Cost is half the price per round.

Head South where the Ocotillo Airport is (At least there is a sign for an Airport!) Go past the "Iron Door" bar (Or stop in both ways) When you see the train tracks to your left, turn left. Location is about 45 minutes east of Scissors Crossing "S2"
Set up anywhere on the other side of the train tracks (It is an active railway so sure as hell don't park on the tracks!) It can get windy out there, wind kicked up and blew our pop up over, knocking shit everywhere including my guns that are now full of dirt! We did get to shoot for close to 4 hours. Highlight was meeting "Tiny Dancer" at the Iron Door. A Desert Flower with many sunsets notched on her belt.

I've been shooting my ammo stock from a ways back so I haven't had to buy ammo at current prices. Eventually I will have to rebuild my stock of ammo. When I do...what the heck!
