I have been involved in much discussion of the DCM recently. One question that I cannot find an answer to is:
Is it possible to dial into our own trucks by simply dialing our truck's telephone number? The number can be found within Techstream data, I will post a picture of where within the Telemetrics data the telephone number is found, or so I suspect. Line item is MSISDN.

I cannot do this test myself because I have removed my SIM card and thus no calls are possible - In or out.

Once you have the telephone number, simply give it a call and see how the truck behaves:
Once the call is answered by the truck, listen for any tones or modem sounds.
There may be a handshake like in the good old days of modems and FAX machines? Or the audio could be opened up right away?

I will leave it to the crowd to come up with applications.

This would best be tested with people who have not disconnected their service with Toyota.

What year did they start putting this in? My 2019 Sport doesn't have anything like that that I'm aware of...

I really have not paid any attention as to when it started; my understanding is if you have the SOS button on the upper center console you have the bells and whistles.

The SIM is inside the DCM module behind the passenger dash.

Have you ever worked with SMT mounted components?

This was really easy, just required a heat gun. If you are not an Electronics Hobbyist I would not recommend. To put it back will require some specialized cleaning, solder paste and solder - plus the heat gun.

Do you have your DCM fuse pulled. If so there is insufficient power to the module and Techstream does not see it - at all.
I will get back into Techstream today and produce instructions. On my Techstream it is the last of all modules shown on the front page after connecting to the vehicle or after running the "Health or Wellness" check.

    Yes, Telematics.

How to find Data in Techstream:
    1) Connect to vehicle like you always do.
    2) My vehicle shows 31 "possible" modules on the first screen in a grid pattern after connecting to the vehicle.
    Double Click the "Telematics" box.
    3) Click blue "Data List" on left side of the screen.

Your data will load on the screen.
Look for the MSISDN info: This should be your telephone number with area code.

    @Vlady
Yes, that display screen does look different.

You haven't answered if your DCM fuse is in place in the engine compartment fuse box.

What version of Techstream are you using? Perhaps one too old to detect the DCM module? I would not know how to determine a correct version; I am currently using 17.30.011. I've used Ver. 16.20.023 too, but do not recall if I accessed Telematics with it.

Do you have your engine running while using Techstream? I do.

Have you done a "Health Check"? This will bring up all operating modules, those that aren't operating will have an asterisk (*) next to them. I show three non-operating modules for myself, "Remote Engine Start", "Sliding Roof" and another I can't remember right now. I do notice asterisks next to many of your modules, too many. It says no Engine, no Combination Meter, etc., these cannot be. Another abnormality in my thinking is why is there a "Hybrid Control" module shown for a Tacoma.

Built in Japan: Are you saying you bought it in Japan (possibly Military TDY) and brought it over to the States or was it built in Japan for the US market or sold here. Or is it a real Japan model for the Japanese market only? I don't know why they would put an SOS button if you didn't have the feature. Perhaps in the early models Telematics may have been named something else.

I mentioned before, this this 2022 toyota. Built in Japan with SOS button and there is no telematics module on the CAN network, there is no DCM fuse present.

Then my guess is Toyota incorporated the Telematrics/DCM function into another module/ECU.
