OK Tacoma guys, this is the problem. I ordered airlift kit for the 17 dcsb 4x4sport. I get it, watch the video and read the instructions. It said block the frame up and drop the back axle. When I did this I was short about two inches from the leaf springs. I didn't see anything on YouTube about it. So I'm asking the Oracle of tacomaworld to enlighten me. 20240406_105824.jpg20240406_105034.jpg

No instructions included? I believe they have you jack it up and block the frame to give you some room to work.

What’s the problem? They will stretch.

They would not stretch the rest of the way down. But if I did put them on at this level I would lose 2 to 3 inches of travel. I installed it and then I would only get 8 inches of down verses the 10 before the install. Have you install some bags? Did you lose any travel from it?

I’ve installed them on full size trucks, not a Tacoma. Yes, an airbag is going to limit suspension articulation. Just as pretty much any other leaf spring modification like an ad a leaf or extra leaves.

One modification quite often affects other traits of the system.

What is it you’re trying to accomplish, added weight capability or rock crawling articulation?

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
That's what cradles are for. If the rear drops enough the bottom isn't connected to the axle and doesn't over stretch the bags.

the product height, which should be the maximum extended bag height, is listed their site as 10-3/4"

i can't find detailed technical drawings anywhere to verify the bag expansion, but it appears to me that the bag is deflated and not at full extension.

Thank you guys for all your help. I looked in to the cradles. This would work now, as well as for future extension of the suspension. This is why I call this site the ORCALE. Lol. Wish you guys luck on your projects. I'm in the dfw area if you ever need metal work. I do custom fab work. Thanks again

FWIW- I have a Tacoma AirLift kit and about a 1.5” spring lift on the rear of my truck (although my bags are a couple of years older and look a little different than yours)
Whenever I put my truck on the hoist or if I jack it up using the trailer hitch, the bags do look a little scary all stretched out, but I’ve never had any leaks or trouble with them.
