Took a drive for family event in California (14 regular cab 4x4 2.7 auto) & during my hotel stay, my catalytic converter was stolen!

I am now looking to get this fixed. I was thinking.. while I'm there, if I can find any options to do a catback exhaust system to add a little more hp/ nicer sound?

Since I had to drive it back to AZ I had a shop weld a temporary straight pipe to get me home. There is a noticeable difference holding gear at highway speeds, hence my idea of changing things up a little.

Hope to see if anyone has any input as the 2.7 doesn't get much aftermarket support!

Thinking I have to do this myself since my cat is fouled.

I found decent cat replacements on RockAuto, they also have individual exhaust parts so typically can get just the midpipe or just the muffler/over axle pipe. For less than $200 you can piece together. Full system that included a Walker stainless muffler/tailpile…

Also found this decently priced cat back:

there are several other more premium options but the pricing is just crazy liek $7-800

Many users on here will thump their chest and say “oem is best!” Also at a ridiculous cost. I’m not gonna die on that hill
