I have a 2013 and wondering anyone has used an Apple CarPlay adapter to get your iPhone maps on the display? If so what device are you using?

I couldn’t tell you if there’s an adapter. I think the vehicle has to have car play capability, then it’s connected by blue tooth.

If you have a stock toyota head unit, you could get it replaced with an aftermarket unit. Theres plenty of options, look at crutchfield.

My aftermarket head unit could connect by blue tooth to car play or plug in with a usb cable. Blue tooth works but plugged in works better.

I run a Kenwood DNX997xr in my 2014. Sweet setup since it allows for both Apple CarPlay maps, Gaia GPS and Garmin maps. I have it ran out to a Morel amp, Morel Tempos front and rear.

Alpine, Pioneer and Kenwood all make aftermarket head units with Apple CarPlay compatibility. Just depends on what you want to spend.

You will need an adapter like a Maestro to allow the head unit to work with your steering wheel controls and other vehicle functions.

I tested this in my 08 with a JVC 780BT.
Seems to work good. Only main complaints are that since it uses wifi and BT, if you’re at home, your home wifi will compete with the dongle.
