Hello everyone. As the title says, Tacoma sat unstarted for ~16 months. Charged batttery overnight and she started right up…but won’t rev higher than 1300-1500 RPM. Sounds good otherwise and has been idling for about 45 minutes now without any other issue. Ideas? Thoughts?

Is the CEL on? If so you need to pull codes and see what you have, also look under the hood for any evidence of rodent damage.

Was the fuel stabilized before it sat? I would change the oil & filter too, just to be safe. Open the airbox and the cabin air box to check for nests. Check under the intake manifold for evidence of nesting under there as well as that's a nice safe place for mice and squirrels to hang out and eat your wiring harness. If by chance you didnt put a bit of stabil in the fuel, you may want to run a bottle of fuel system cleaner through the engine to help bring your injectors back to life, maybe some seafoam too. Check your seals for leaks because they could have dry rot during the time it sat due to the lubricating properties of the oils. Let it idle for 15 to 20 minutes with no throttle input to flush the fluid through the system. You can get your transmission exercised by running the gear selector through each of its gears to help lubricate that system. These are where I would start.

Rodents like Dm93 suggested. Look in the air filter housing and all air intake tubes. It might be full of acorns.

Hopefully it had fuel stabilizer. Rodents chewing through wires isn’t unheard of.

That gas is way beyond bad. Drain the tank & start over.

2013 it could be that the Secondary Air Injection System Valve(s) have frozen in place due to humidity etc... and hasn't thrown a code Yet.

I had the air filter box on my riding lawn mower stuffed with corn one year. Yes, check your air box too.
