Most my life self propelled. Lots of backpacking, rockclimbing, trail running and mountain biking. Backcountry skiing and road biking, too.

Did have an FJ Teams, but never gave it the mods to maximize. Recent bike crash, shoulder surgery and long rehab (am 65) = needs new hobby. My '20 Tacoma is nicely ready for adventuring. More high and wild vs rockcrawling.

Local mtns, plus Sierras, White Mtns, Death Valley. Can't wait.

Hi. I’m up in Santa Clarita. Anyone know any good Tacoma mechanics in this area? I have a 2011 2.7 that has an oil consumption problem.

 

While I don't live in Glendale anymore, I grew up there in the 70s - 80s on Chevy Chase Boulevard where it goes under the 2 freeway. Sometimes I go back and visit with an old friend from time to time and so much has changed.

 

where are you living now?
I lived in glendale for a short period of time (3 years) but my mother lived there about 15 years before she moved out to Ontario. I still go back with my youngest son to grab pizza and park in front of the apartments we lived at just to reminisce. A lot of good times up there. We lived next to the 134 off of Pacific. Things have changed for sure

Anyone have a transmission mechanic in the area? I got my manual transmission rebuilt from Marlin Crawler but it seems the install with the "new" clutch seemingly didn't go as planned a year later. Throw out bearing is making a fun noise.

I back Lextech 100% but they don't do transmissions unfortunately. Paul is great and if you're nice enough you can hang out with a adult beverage.

Any help would be appreciated!
