    hi from maryland. picked up good framed single cab 2nd gen from PA. Fasteners and a few brackets are rusty and has front end damage but like all toyota it has 200k and runs like a dream. ive been lurking tw for a while but im acrually starting to work on the truck so ill share my progress here soon

    waiting on parts im about to re do the entire front face and replace all engine bay fasteners/bolts with new zinc hardware IMG_6276.jpg IMG_6330.jpg

    If fasteners and brackets are the extent of the rusting, then you have a very well kept Tacoma, especially for your area :thumbsup:

    Yeah the previous owner was very proactive taking care of the frame. Yearly oil/wax coating and spot treated any developing rust. Truck commuted from delaware to pa for its whole life. really only stuff in the bay and a control arm or two that have any significant rust. The frame wasnt even replaced in the recall!

    Nice! I used Cosmoline spray cans from Amsoil. Doesn't need to be reapplied yearly.

    update: did some work to the front end this weekend. changed headlights, grill, and the entire supporting bumper frame. The truck was previously in a small accident that crumpled the brackets holding the hood latch and the owner at the time decided to instead of just bend the chincy metal back in to place drill holes in the hood for faux race pins to hold the hood down… needless to say its ugly rusty squeaky and barely works.
