    Hello,
    Everyone

Hopefully this is the right spot to ask this question. So yesterday my 2021 Tacoma trd pro got hit by a hail storm. I love this truck and baby it and it’s my first hail storm. Really hurts lol but it is what it is. Got a bunch of little dimples that should be fixed decently easy. But my drivers side view mirror (glass only) got broken in the storm.

It has BSM. Well I was about to lose BSM anyway because I just put a deposit to get a steel front and back bumper. The back bumper I am getting doesn’t support BSM. So my question is since I have to replace this mirror anyway could I replace them with the heated mirrors? I found these https://mirrorglassplus.com/5562h/

I have never replaced a side view mirror. Would that work? Or do I need to get another BSM mirror? I really appreciate anyone’s input. Thanks!

Technically all of the tacomas come with heated mirrors from factory, but i just dont know if all come with BSM. Besides the Bsm sensors are by the rear view mirror so i dont see why not

The sensors are in the rear bumper as the OP realizes, the "indicators" are in the mirror glass. It is likely that all cars will come with BSM in the near future.

OP, your link was for the passenger side, not the driver's side. I've been known to be too excited about ordering something and not noticing a simple thing such as right and left.

o.p mentioned rear bumpers because hes going to replace them. That reminds me replacing the bumpers without the cutout might throw codes at him i believe

If I remember correctly from other people’s problems with BSM is that if you leave the dash switch in the off position then there are no codes. Much like the DCM, disconnect it and there are no codes.

From personal experience: I had the RAV4 mirrors on mine and I was fine. Once I got a steel bumper, the BSM was gone. I pulled off the sensors and the switch was removed and the hole used for something else. All the wiring was there and no codes.
